Background
Q. There are many web-sites dedicated to music societies in Cheshire, so why produce another one?
A. Have you ever tried to find information about any societies for which you don't know the web-site address?
I have and it tends to be a very frustrating experience unless the site designers fully understand the way that Internet search engines return results.
Usually, you have to wade through lots of spurious results and often give up before you get to anything useful!
This is a terrible shame for those individuals who have spent a great deal of time and effort developing sites
for their group, only for them to be restricted to their membership. It also becomes a real problem if a society is trying to attract new members or audiences
The purpose of this site is not to replace other sites which have already been created, merely
introduce a simpler way of finding them all
This site also allows those societies who have not yet created web-sites but are contactable by e-mail, to get themselves
listed as well
I also believe that bringing lots of sites together to a common place will improve communication between groups
and musicians around the county

Information about the Categories
The categories are fairly arbitrary based upon the types of societies I have managed to find on my web searches.
I believe that they should be fairly self explanatory but I have placed some guidance below for completeness

Information concerning operatic societies of all sizes and age groups

Information concerning choral societies of all sizes and age groups,
excluding operatic societies which have a separate listing

Small Ensembles
|
Information concerning all small ensembles (for example: string quartets, woodwind quintets etc)

How does our society get listed?
The process is designed to be extremely simple, just fill in the form and then your society
will be listed as soon as possible
This registration is also free!

Information about the message board
The message board facility now available!
The board is intended to be used as means of posting ideas, attracting new members and even setting up new groups
The only restrictions are selling equipment and requests for duplication of copyright materials (which of course is illegal!)
